Unreal, that we are here already. Seven incredible years of meeting so many amazing dogs and their families. We have had fantastic opportunities working with different shelters and rescues all over Georgia. We have been through a lot of changes in our own pack as well; we currently only have one member of our original crew (fun fact-32 Paws was named after our original pack of eight dogs) and we have welcomed two new dogs into our family.
Offering Force Free Dog Training has been a big dream. We were originally in the shelter setting and then moved on to vet medicine setting. Both desperately needed an outlet for dogs struggling with or without caretakers. Dogs of all ages were being euthanized for everything in the shelter setting from barking to leash pulling or having no recall. Dogs in the vet medicine setting were being euthanized for more than just medical a few cases were simple house training frustrations. That is when we stepped in and decided to get certified and offer additional options.
Leaving a stable job to venture on our own in an area where it is mostly shock collar and board/train was absolutely terrifying. We did it though, and this is because of the support from the community and surrounding areas we serve. We have done everything from puppy antics to severe behavioral modification in and out of the home and shelters.
We typically offer in your home sessions, because environment being such a HUGE factor in behavior. We have also done assessments in kennel settings for shelters/rescues. We have even brought fosters home to do trial runs in a home setting to give more feedback for what a home might look like for the dog in need.
At 32 Paws, our focus is almost always dogs. We like to share videos of our own dogs exploring on vacation. We often share the trials they might be struggling with at the time whether it's food aggression, overcoming fearful grooming exercises, vet visits, recall, proper socializing cues with dogs, greeting company, and everything else in between. We are so obsessed with them. We also share ways to help manage kids and dogs. We shared tips on helping introduce puppies to seniors and what loss looked like each time we lost one of our own.
We are so proud at all our students have accomplished as well. Some have went through basics and graduated in to amazing adults after puppyhood. We have some that loved learning extra things like how to use buttons to speak their needs. Others have went off further and received titles like the CGC or Trick Titles through the AKC. We even had some graduate Service Dog Training to help their humans navigate the world differently.
Our goal is to reduce or eliminate frustrations that stems from certain dog behavior. It is critical in keeping dogs in their homes and preventing the vicious cycle of ending up in the shelter system. It was bad pre covid, but now it is so very difficult. Many facilities or rescue groups are not even able to move puppies anymore. We can't prevent all the dogs from ending up in the shelter, but we do try and be proactive in reducing the amount that end up there. We frequently attend shelters and offer behavioral assessments to help create a pathway that would provide the best case scenario for the dog. We love hosting public events to answer questions and offer advice. We also like to bring awareness on how to help with out actually going out to the shelter, because it is a hard task. Our heart aches at every shelter visit. Massive numbers of dogs and cats struggling with a hard setting and no guarantee that there will be a positive outcome.
We have had such a great time teaching all the dogs so many things. We love the difference we have made in Animal Welfare. We will continue learning more and moving forward. We are very proud of the Reactive Rover Classes and the people attending them. IT IS HARDWORK MANAGING A REACTIVE ROVER. We will continue expanding classes and other services in the near future.
We just want to thank you all so much for all the support and effort you put in with your dogs. We want to thank all those recommendations that have moved us to where we are today. We hope you keep watching and learning.
